Check out this stunning, FREE dress pattern from Craftzine. Fabulous! http://www.craftzine.com/blog/archive/2007/06/craft_pattern_podcast_burda_st_3.html
Maybe sometime when I finish up my random projects around I'll attempt this dress.

I present you to Steve. I got the pattern and instructions from Denyse Schmidt Quilts: 30 Colorful Quilt and Patchwork Projects book. Steve really should be a lot larger, but I photocopied his pattern at home, so i couldn't make him very large. I also used felt instead of fabric for his ears. I did a pretty crappy job with him, I sewed his right arm to his hip and I was too lazy to rip out the stitches. Oh well, it gives him character. And next time I need to remember to not use crappy, Walmart fabric. Here is the Steve Series:

Steve's Mugshot.

Steve's Closeup.

Second time blogging today. Wow.

Just a layout I did a couple days ago. I just love the mat and all the squiggly lines. I'll have to remember to use that more often. I'm thinking of redoing the "10 things I love" title part, because I don't believe it's very strong. We'll see.

Untitled

I've been a bad blogger. Nothing to exciting to write about anyway. But here I am anyways.

I used to hate thrift store shopping, but I am trying to use money more wisely, so on Monday I went with a couple friends "vintage clothes shopping". It's my sophisticated way of saying secondhond, used, or thrift shop shopping. I discovered this great sweater at Goodwill. 2 BUCKS! I couldn't believe it. The buttons were boring and too small for the buttonholes, so I(being my new money-conscious self) ran over to Wal-Mart picked up some new buttons and voila!

Sorry about the craptastic bad lighting shot. It was 11:30 and I had just finished sewing on the first button and realized that I should take before and after shots.

I think the transformation is very becoming. While vintage clothes shopping I discovered the wonder that is vintage sewing patterns. I'm in the process of making a shirt from a 1978 pattern. It's kinda scary since I have never sewed any clothing for myself before. Wish me luck!
