scrap drawer
My scrap drawer this morning. I so wish I had a room, or heck even a desk for my "studio", but for now I have a drawer. And my floor. Does the job though.

2/365 {create daily}

A little paiting/art journal page for {create daily}. Very much inspired by this. It is such a cool blog and I'm planning to do more of the fun projects.

As you can see on the left-hand side there is a little link to the {create daily}, where I'll have a central location to the photos and the details. If you are doing this or going to start I'd love to hear!

I think that's it for today, I really want to do some scrapping and finish up some TAIF stuff, but we'll see! Happy Monday!

Flickr is full of such loveliness. Makes me smile.

It was sorta-ish warm today, now the flowers need to bloom and the trees and grass need to me green. Right. NOW.

Saw this morning that Kristina Contes had included this blog in her into it post. Very cool. She is such an amazing artist.

This blog is inspiring me crazy lately. Those ladies are so DANG talented.

I think that's it my {lazy} Sunday. Have a good one!

new dresser arrangement...

Went thrifting over the week. I love this photo so much. Makes me happy.

I had such a fun time, now I have to get back to reality, school, and the to-do list. Yucko.

yellow + black

The new dresser arrangment. The yellow+black arrangement was unintentional. I got home and it all just fell into place. Probably destiny. :)

swoon

The Kodak Instamtic camera has me swooning. Doesn't work, but for two dollars, I didn't really care. I totally picked up the mugs for a quarter each... I love being cheap.

Dare 87... PC:365 #1

For Dare 88. This was some late night scrapping. Definitely the best kind. I really liked doing the journalling this way, so I wasn't so concerned about who read what. Also another fun way to incorporate Packaging!

PC: 365

I'm starting a new thing called Project Creative:365. I've been really wanting to start something to make into a daily ritual. Last summer I tried Daily Cards, but after awhile I didn't enjoy it anymore. I was very much inspired by this woman who creates art every single day. Unfortunately I can't find the link right now...

I've always been a bit weary of taking self portraits of myself everyday, or journalling everyday... etc.... Because sometimes life gets in the way and doing the same thing gets to be unenjoyable.

So my project is to make something creative everday. Can be whatever I want. Taking a photo, painting, scrapping, journalling, sketching, ATC's,.... styling my freakin' hair. I don't care. I'm planning on photographing everything. I don't know how often I'll post just whenever I want. I want this to be enJOYable. If you have any inspiring links or whatever, I'd love to hear!

You can check out the Flickr set for more pics.

Today I'm gonna go hit up the to-do list, work on some stuff for TAIF, and clean my room. Disaster is sort of an understatement right now...

Here are some more pics from my mini-vacation. If you ever go to McCall, Idaho, contact me and I'll give you all the dirt on the local hot-spots. If you like skiing during the Winter that's cool. Great small town feel and an awesome lake for the Summer... One of my most favorite places in the whole world.

Tuesday, March 25, 2008

A new post is up over at The Art is Found. I was so thrilled to have the fabulous Vee Guest Design for this prompt. Her mini-album will make you swoon. Go check it out! I'm so unbelievably excited for the next prompt! It's going to be awesome and I want to share. right. now.

Can you all believe that it's almost April? And you know that the April means, Love, Elsie Forrest Line! I'm LUSTING over that line right now. And yes, I do think of everything as scrap related. "What day is it?" "Well, OLW was posted yesterday.... Thursday!"....

I'll be leaving to go out of town later today and will be MIA until probably Saturday, so if you try to get a hold of me or something and can't, that why! Hmmm... maybe I should go pack.

[/sarcasm] Because I know that you all rush home everyday to read my blog [sarcasm]. I give you things to do. In a bulleted list of course!

  • Read this book. It's inspiring. It's beautiful.
  • Listen to Mr. Joshua Radin. Because he is beautiful. My fave is "The fear you won't fall". I mean, hello, he sings with Ingrid Michaelson! Ingrid is amazing.
  • Go make one of those "16 things to do before I turn 17 list". Except that you're probably not 16(neither am I.... I have to wait to June). I've already started mine, I have only 4 things, I need inspiration!
  • Go do this. :)
  • Drink beer out of a wine glass and watch trashy TV.
  • Buy these. And take pictures.

Now, you can't say that you're bored! Have a good week! *xoxoxoxoxo*

It's true.

Mine's been okay, so far. I've been working on some cool stuff for TAIF, I'm really excited about it. Don't forget to check back on Monday for the new prompt and Guest Designer. :D

New wire.

Put up a new inspiration wire today. Wanted a fresh start. Since it's Spring Break this week, I'm hoping to get some purging and cleaning done.

teen vogue

March 2008, Teen Vogue. I think this hair clip is totally genuis. I am so going to raid my little brother's Lego blocks.

teen vogue

The belt is cool too. The mag says it's Marc by Marc Jacobs. I love Teen Vogue, it's so fresh and hip.

today

What I'm wearing today, I love dresses. They are so easy and feminine. Remember the whole Spring cleaning thing? Yeah, my room definitely needs it.

Hoping to get to this week's Dare and finish my Pencil Lines layout. Have a great rest of the day and Happy Easter!!

Some random pics.

Thursday, March 20, 2008

A little project for my photography class. Was very fun to do. I also came to the realization that I own a small amount of pink. Something I should work on. :D
Very happy that it's almost the end of the week. And Spring Break next week! Yay-yuh! Since, I've been too lazy to upload my recent layouts(I'll get crackin', I promise!), I give you new blog links:
I'm very much addicted to Bloglines now. Took awhile to get used to, but I really like it!
Til' later!

love

Wow, I hate Mondays. Really, really hate Mondays. I was all fired up this morning going "choose to be joyful, Kara, think JOY". Yeah, didn't work.

On a happy note, Rachel Denbow's project is up on The Art is Found. It's jaw-dropping inspiring. Check it out! And don't forget to play along!! You still have all week.

So I was tagged by the awesome, Miss Mandi to say 7 random things about myself.

  1. I brush. Then floss. Then brush again. It keeps me balanced. :D
  2. So I finally got my ghetto typewriter to work yesterday. I found it hilarious and very frustrating. For one, it "jams" in the one spot on the paper every single line! I just push the period button maniacally and it will move. And everything is crooked. But it makes me happy and that's all that really matters.
  3. I LOVE America's Next Top Model. Oh and Tyra. Her talk show and everything. I usually pride myself in my "classiness", but, yeah. Oh, ANTM, I love thee so much.
  4. I eat peanut butter by the spoonful. Has to be all-natural Adams though. I prefer creamy, but crunchy definitely does the job.
  5. I hate hairy armpits with a burning, fiery passion. I shave my armpits every single day. I don't care about my legs that much, unless it's the summer. Even hairy armpits on guys are disgusting. Ugh. *Now that you know more than you ever wanted to know about me*
  6. I have a really bad temper. Came "this close" to unleashing the burning pits of hell of certain people today.
  7. My wardrobe consists of grey, white, and black. And dresses. Lots of dresses. Emily Martin is my clothes idol. And The Vintage Society Girl.

I don't really have the energy to tag more people, but feel free to do it on your own blog! Thanks candimandi! That was fun.

I have more pictures and layouts to share, I'll get 'em posted sometime later this week. Have a good one!

and pretty was good

Because of my lack of craftiness and photography, I give thee an eye-candy post. *Please do not blame me for large amounts of enabling.... It's all so pretty. I can't help it.*

Saw this ridiculously inspirng print from this Etsy seller. Love it to death. You must check out the rest of their stuff.

I also discovered this flickr group today. Holy freak, I'm going to have fun there.

This room kills me. The green, that headboard, the details, the freaking suitcase. Anthro why do you do this to me? If care to spend $1500 on a headboard, indulge yourself. Just don't tell me.

This this amazingness from One Good Bumblebee. Must. have. it. A bunch of random paper? I am so there.
I just love this dress from Urban Outfitters. On my to-do list, I really want to make a summery dress for myself. Hmmm....

The latest flickr favs. Info here

That looks like it's that for today. Have a good weekend! Mine should be pretty fabulous.

a pretty mess

Pretty mess.

I want to thank everyone for all the well wishes and excitement about The Art is Found. It's so cool for me to see people actually like the idea. So, thank you!

I want to thank the awesome Jody for picking my mini-album for the SIS Catwalk this week. SIS is so inspiring and everyone is so sweet and nice. If you're not addicted already, you need to be!

Some ATC's

Just some ATC's I've made over the last few days. They are so fun and simple. The bottom right one is one of my favs. Focus is my word for the year and I try to make something every once in awhile to remind myself of it. To make it I glue-sticked some Anthro tissue paper on it and the sand papered it. Very fun technqiue, I like how the card shines through.

So I've been thinking of Balance a lot lately. It's something I'm really searching for in my life. The last few days I've been kinda down and out, so I made my "I'm pissed because-and this is what I'm going to do about it" list. First, I list off all the things that are irriatating me, pissing me off, whatever. Then I list all the things I desire most in the world(not materrial things) and then I list off all the stuff I'm going to do about it. It's really helpful. One of the things I decided that I want to do for my little Balance problem, is find something to do every day. Something I enjoy, something that'll challenge me. So that's where you come in. I have no idea what I want to do. It can be art related or not. Maybe it's something, you do every day or something you really want to do. So indulge me, please! Maybe this'll challenge you do something.

Well, have a great day!

deep thoughts

An oldie. I've been going through lots of pics try to edit them up. this one cracks me up. I am such a dork.

cover of mini-album.

The cover of my mini-album made for my NEW challenge blog:

The Art is Found!!!

I'm totally, ridiculously, wonderfully excited. Check out the blog for all the details and the rest of the mini. Don't forget to play along!

n is for nerd

A new layout for Scrapjacked. Isn't that paper stunning! I about swooned when I got it... Woodgrain + Green= Love.

dare 84

dare 84

A two-pager(!!) for Dare 84. Totally late, but I don't care. Totally love this layout. It's 8 x 12, I'll just stitch a 12x12 page protector, to make it work. But most of my layouts aren't in page protectors or albums anyway, so yeah. ;)

Thanks for looking! Have a great Monday.

My momma

Thought I'd share some lovely photos that I "discovered" a few days ago. I love me some old photos. These made me swoon.

*love old photos*

this is so precious to me

They have so much character. Total love over here.

Last night I watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age, last night. So amazing, Cate Blanchett kicks some butt in that movie. I thought she did so well. I've always had this strange obsession with the whole Tudor Era.

Did you hear that the The Other Boleyn Girl film isn't supposed to be good? Totally dissapointing, I LOVE that book.

This video is so amazing. You must check out Angus and Julia Stone. He is soooo hot. Their song "Paper Aeroplane" is pretty darn amazing.

Alright, time to go hit up the to-do list. Wish me luck. Check back tomorrow for some cool stuff and a mini-book. Maybe even my Scrapjacked and Dare layouts. Don't hold your breath though.

Happy Sunday!

a little project

A little embroidery project I'm working on. Eegah, I really hate not blogging more, it's frustrates me This week has sucked, but I'm pretty darn determind to make next week amazing.

My SIS package arrived about 10 minutes ago, it's so darn pretty! The Label Love is amazing, my first Hambly ever, some stunning Tinkering Ink, some of the Adrienne Looman collection, and a sweet note from miss KA herself. I highly recommend working with them, it was a great experience!

Hoping today to finally do some scrapping, gonna take a walk to get pics developed(or printed... whatever), finally finish Dare 84, do the ridiculously disgusting amount of homework I have, and maybe take some time to enjoy the weekend. Now, that sounds like an idea.

I'm very much enjouing this lovely album by Mika. This music just wants me to jump up and dance. Favorites are: Relax, Take it Easy, Anyother World, Lollipop, Grace Kelly, Happy Ending, Stuck in the Middle. The whole album is pretty much amazing though.
And another random pic from last weekend! Warning: Extreme Dorkage.

reason #564

Goodness gracious! These last couple of weeks have left me exhausted. I really want to crawl into bed with a good book, some raspberry lemonade, and just chill. Chill sounds good. I cannot believe that it's March already, crazy stuff! I am so ready for the Spring Break though, but I just want another break from school. Anyone care to explain the Trig chapter in my Pre-Cal class to me?

Because bulleted lists are cool. I give you one.

    • Hoping to get to the new Scrapjack of the lovely Amy sometime this week.
    • Hope to just scrapbook anything! Finally went paper shopping on Saturday, got lots of yummy American Crafts. Hoping my SIS package gets here sometime this week. I've been drooling on the Label Love stuff for months from miss Kristina Contes and I am happy to get it before it's all gone.
    • Gonna work on getting more stuff on the to-do list done. Like finally burning pictures to disk, cleaning up the external hard drive, finishing the big photography assignment, finish top secret coolness(to be revealed next Monday!). Fun stuff like that.
    • The Spring catalog for Urban Outfitters is absolute beautiful! If you haven't already, you must sign up for the Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters catalogs, they're gorgeous and free! Well, you'll end up buying something, because, well, it's Anthro and UO.
    • Been loving up some Feist and A Fine Frenzy all weekend. They both are such great albums!
    • Can anybody recommend any good blog readers? I tried bloglines, but can't really get into it. I don't like that I can only see the posts, I want to see the rest of the blogs, like the links and sidebar and jazz. Any good ones?

Some random photos from a weekend of lots of picture taking. Yay!

no joke
